About Us
This is your invitation.
Join Rise in Radiance — a new singing experience for women in South Hobart and Dodges Ferry. Led by performer, artist and harmony-lover Ella Burns, this choir is for women who want to open their voice, grow in confidence in music and expression, and build community through the joy of singing.
Our sessions will always include connecting to breath and sound, through a somatic lens, as well as harmonising as a group, guided music improvisation, understanding music terminology and learning beautiful, powerful songs together.
Whether you're a seasoned vocalist, returning after years away, or stepping into singing for the very first time — You are welcome here!
We believe in the power of women's voices to uplift, heal, and change the world.
What Women Are Saying
"I was really nervous about joining a women's singing group, especially with some ongoing voice challenges from a paralysed vocal cord… but it's been a fun, welcoming and uplifting experience. I've felt really supported rather than self-conscious. I'm so glad I took the leap."
"Ella has captured something special in what she's doing here. The Rise in Radiance experience so far has been warm, inspiring and soulful. I would encourage women of any age and singing experience to join us in creating magic."
"This choir is such a special experience. Something to look forward to every week, knowing how inspiring and uplifting it is. There is something magical about women singing together. Ella has an incredible ability of sharing music and song, in a way that even if you feel you 'can't sing', you will undoubtedly enjoy singing through the joy and freedom she emanates."
"Being part of the Rise in Radiance choir has been so joyful. It's been the best way to spend stress-free Sunday afternoons with lovely people, connecting to sing some beautiful songs and harmonies."

Hi, I am Ella — an Australian-born woman of Irish, Scottish and English descent — my surname rooted in Irish clans known for their connection to nature and the arts.
I have spent my whole life as a lover and curious explorer of music, dance, movement and theatre. After leaving my career in the musical theatre industry in my late 20's, life took me on a more unconventional path and I began to explore my voice and music not through performance, but through ritual and embodiment.
I believe that we have so much to learn about and from each other, through the universal language that is music. My eternal gratitude is to all of the artists, cultures and lineages of music that have shaped and inspired me.
